If there is one thing the ladies of the Webrecruit Office never shut up about, it’s fashion. Shoes, bags, “this season’s colour”… we’ve heard it all! So in honour of our fashionable office girls, we thought we would do a Local Talent Spotter post all about independent fashion retailers across Ireland. Boutique style fashion stores often stock brands which are harder to find and items which may be very unique. If you are having a special birthday or heading to a wedding, these may be the shops you need to visit to find that stunning outfit.
In Belfast there are two stores which really stand out. Firstly the fantastic designer Una Rodden has her own store in the City Centre. The store sells Una’s ready to wear designs but you can also book an appointment with her to have a custom item made. Her designs are beautifully crafted and you’ll be wearing for them to years to come. On the Lisburn Road, high end fashion store Please Don’t Tell stocks brands such as Isabel Marant and Helmut Lang which are hard to find elsewhere in the province.
In Newry, there are a range of lovely little boutiques but our favourite is Berling. Berling is the place you need to go if you have a wedding or special ‘do’ you need to attend. They stock an array of amazing dresses from brands such as Virgo’s Lounge. We also love Bow’s Boutique which is located beside the Canal Court Hotel. Pretty pastels and prints are a theme of this shop and there are pieces to suit mum’s and daughter’s alike. In Londonderry, Pippa Boutique really stands out. The store is bright colours, jumpsuits and dresses galore- a 20something girl’s dream!
In Dublin it was hard to pick just one boutique so we chose a whole centre! The Powerscourt Centre houses an array of independent retailers that you’ll be able to buy fashion, home-ware and antiques in. From stunning prints and paintings to interesting jewellery pieces, it’s a one stop stop for all things individual. Make sure to visit the Irish Couture shop if a handcrafted piece of Irish fashion is what you are after.
In Cork, Vanilla Boutique, situated in Fermoy had the Webrecruit girls asking for a day at the races. With stunning dresses and bags, you are sure to be a knockout whether you back a winner or not!
